MADI’s STORY
Hey, Friends! I’m Madi! I’m so glad you’re here!
Madison was born and raised in a small town in Alabama with her parents and 2 sisters. She was taught the importance of following Jesus from a young age. Her family was very involved at Church, so Madi spent a lot of her time serving there, attending VBS, and going on mission trips.
As Madison got older, her faith in God started becoming more about rules and reputation over relationship. Her faith wasn’t her own, it was her parent’s or her church’s. She fell into a performance-based mindset, looking to others for acceptance and striving for achievements. Although she didn’t pursue an intimate relationship with God, she still wanted to be “good for Him” and kept herself out of trouble.
Madison went to Auburn University and immediately started feeling pressures and temptations like never before. Although Madi would’ve called herself a “good girl,” she still wanted to fit in. After trying for a while to live the college life, she experienced deep heaviness and broke down in her dorm, crying out to God.
Tired of striving and performing, she re-surrendered her heart to Jesus and finally decided to make him the Lord of her life.
That day changed everything for her. Madison found a local church and got plugged in immediately! She joined a small group full of other believers who wanted to live for Jesus, and she joined her church’s Bible college.

Madi’s life took an interesting turn when she got a call from ABC’s The Bachelor. She never would she have imagined that was what God had for her. She thought to herself, “The Bachelor?!!! I just graduated seminary?! What will everyone think?!” Although it seemed crazy, she had a radical peace and felt led to say yes.
Madison had no idea what she was signing up for, but went in with a heart of faith and surrender! After months of filming, Madi chose to walk away from the relationship knowing deep down that who God had for her wouldn’t require her to compromise her standards. When the show aired, Madi gained hundreds of thousands of followers every day. She didn’t realize how much it would affect her mentally and emotionally. There were moments of extreme loneliness, anxiousness, and feeling misunderstood by people, but Madi knew she made the right decision.
Tens of thousands of people reached out to Madi, encouraged by her love for Jesus, her commitment to purity, and her confidence to walk away from something she knew wasn’t God's best.
To her surprise, many encouraged by her stance decided to make the same decisions for themselves. People were messaging her saying, “I decided to follow Jesus and go all in with my faith!” and “I’ve decided to save myself for marriage. You gave me the courage to do that!”
Madi doesn’t talk about this to point fingers at herself like she’s some hot shot. She shares those things because as she says, “If God can use some broken nobody like me to glorify His name on some secular show like the Bachelor, he can use you and anything you’ve been through!” All God needs is a surrendered heart and a “yes.” Our “yes” to God can lead to other people's salvation, freedom, courage, and purpose.
